A T-junction is a point where roads meet, an intersection, a place to stop, a turning point. This T-junction is where readers and writers meet, a linguistic intersection, a place to stop, listen and think for poets and poetry-lovers alike. It’s a four-day poetry festival of readings, workshops, debates, master-classes, guest-lectures and book-launches.
The first T-junction festival took place in October 2014, and included poets from Zimbabwe, Macedonia, France, Estonia and Serbia. The second festival promises to be even better, with poets visiting us from Jamaica, Latvia, Pakistan, Bosnia, Finland, Palestine and Syria.
For over a hundred years people have come from all over the world to make their home on the banks of the Tees. T-junction is an international festival for a town with a long international history and a showcase for the best of the Teesside poetry scene.
With thanks to our sponsors:
T-junction is supported by the Arts Council, Middlesbrough Council, Tees Valley Combined Authority, Teesside University, mima and Inpress and by poetry publishers Smokestack, Ek Zuban, Mudfog, Vane Women, Arc and Bloodaxe.
